I hope you will join me this Thursday for a conversation with Dr. Leanne Van Dyk. Leanne is the former President of Columbia Seminary in Atlanta, and former professor of theology and Dean and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Western Theological Seminary. Leanne and I will wrestle with the important question of "what do I leave and what do I take with me" as I journey the road of deconstruction. We will discuss why we both ended up devoting our lives to the study of the Bible and Christian theology. What motivated Leanne when she first began her educational journey? What was her conception of God then, and what is it now? What caused her to change her views? Is Christian orthodoxy still important to her? What does she think about the current state of the church? This will be an honest conversation about the struggle so many are having with Christian theology and the church. We will leave plenty of time for questions. I hope to see you there!
